If you’re a business owner, and you’re Feeling Lost or Trapped in your Business, I’m here to tell you that you’re not alone. It’s actually more common than what you might think.
Especially for businesses that have been around for a long time, and when you’re caught up in that day to day activities, and you’re entrenched in what’s going on, you tend to forget what it was all about and why you even started it.
Here’s Four things that you can do Right Now to bring into your business to reignite that passion and get everything back on track.
1. Reconnect – Re-establish and Align with your:
· Purpose
· Values
· Goals
2. Be Honest – With Yourself and Others
· Stop lying about the problems
· Take your head Out of the Sand
· If it’s Broken, then FIX IT!
3. Stop Comparing Your Success
· Puts unnecessary pressure on yourself
· Causes you to Lose focus on what’s important to you
· Stick to YOUR vision and goals
4. Get Help
· Don’t be afraid to ask
· Tackle the Issues HEAD ON
Number one – Reconnect: The most important part is we want to reconnect with the business. We want to reconnect with the purpose of why we started it and why it’s so important to us.
Reconnect with the values that are important to us and make sure that they’re in the business and they’re aligned with what we hold close to us. We want to re-evaluate and establish on what the goals are.
Here’s the reason why: If you started this business a while ago, the above factors will be different now that you’ve changed and you’ve evolved. The purpose, values and goals that you have in your life and your business are going to change as well. So we need to reconnect with those and bring those back into alignment.
Number Two – Be Honest: You want to be honest with ourselves and be honest with other people. You can stop lying to ourselves that everything’s okay. We want to stop lying to other people that everything’s okay.
If things are tough, be as honest as you can with people, if they ask you how things are going tell them it’s a bit tough. And the reason I say that is that there’s a potential there for them to send clients or customers your way knowing that you’re struggling.
When we’re honest, we might be able to get that little nugget of advice or that little nugget of wisdom from someone that might set you off on a different path and help get you back on track.
If we lie to ourselves that everything’s okay, everything’s fine, “Nothing needs to be fixed”, then it’s going to stay broken.
Number three – Stop Comparing Your Success: Stop comparing your success to other people. Stop looking out there and saying, “Wow, it’s working really well for them, Why isn’t it working well for us?”
Here’s the problem, you don’t really know what’s going on in the background of these people’s lives. You only see what they portray as well; let’s remember number 2, they might not be honest as well.
When you Compare yourself to others, it puts unnecessary pressure on yourself. It will cause you to lose focus on the Vision, goals and the purpose because you’re chasing someone else’s vision and an idea.
Stick to your goals and the vision that you’re setting. That’s the only thing that’s important for you.
Number Four – Get Help: You want to get someone who’s going to get in behind you and help tackle these issues, head on. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Don’t be ashamed to get it. Get some unbiased help because it’s fresh eyes on your business it’s going to offer you a different perspective and it’s going to allow you that freedom and flexibility to look at things differently.
